A language teacher is heading off on the trip of a lifetime to help train colleagues in Uganda.
Karen Mee, from Pelham Road, Thame is joining a 25 strong team on the ambitious trip this summer.
But before she can help train 250 Ugandans to teach English in schools in the country, she must help raise money to fund the venture.
She said: “There can be more than 50 children in any one class.
“In the second week we will have put together a teacher training session.”
And Karen hopes that her current job, as a teacher of English as a foreign language, will stand her in good stead on the trip.
She said: “English highly relevant for Uganda because it is one of the languages they try to promote. All the tribes speak in different dialects and classes can be full of children from different tribes.”
