A farrier is gearing up to cycle all the way from London to Land’s End for charity – all in just 24 hours.
Jonathan Smith, 33, shods horses during the day but in his spare time the keen cyclists likes to get out on the open road on two wheels.
He aims to raise £1,000 for Chiltern Air Ambulance, and has already clocked up more than £700 towards his goal.
Jon, of Malyns Close, Chinnor, said: “It’s going to be a monster. The toughest part will be the mental fatigue riding at night. But I’ve just got to grit my teeth and bear it.”
The father-of-two has been cycling for two years and said he was looking for something a little more challenging, so signed up for Action Challenge’s Ride 24 event just after Christmas and began training.
He will join more than 100 others as they set off from the capital at 9am on June 14 and pedal through the night to reach the famous white sign the next morning.
