A special guest joined members of a new Afro Carribbean group for their black tie fundraiser in aid of the Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity.
The High Commissioner of Grenada Joslyn Whiteman mingled with guests at the swanky event held by Aylesbury Afro Carribbean Circle on Saturday night.
The evening – to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the hospice based at Stoke Mandeville Hospital – began with cocktails and canapes before guests were entertained with comediennes, singers and dance performers at Buckingham Park Community Centre.
Patsy Morris, one of the organisers, said: “It was a magnificent evening, and though we haven’t counted up yet we think we will have raised more than £2,000 for the hospice.”
