Community projects aiming to benefit Thame can now apply for funding from Thame Town Council.
Grants in recent years have helped supply youth-sized shoes for young players at Thame Bowls Club, fund the Thame Literary Festival and provide late-night voluntary patrols to keep the streets safe.
Town councillor Mike Dyer said: “It’s a great way to help charitable groups get off the ground and then they are able to grow.
“They often go to local sports clubs, elderly luncheon groups or to provide disabled facilities.
“But we don’t want people thinking we can completely finance them though, it’s a start.
“We tend to provide £12,000 to £15,000 for the year across the board.”
Grants can be applied for throughout this month until the 5pm deadline on April 30.
