Drivers could face yet more parking charges under plans being considered by Bucks County Council.
The council is looking into the possibility of introducing pay and display machines for on-street parking bays in a number of locations across the county, including Aylesbury.
A council spokesman said: “The introduction of pay and display machines throughout Buckinghamshire has been approved by the council through its medium term planning process.
“Sites are currently being looked at across the county initially focusing on the conversion of limited waiting bays to pay and display.
“This will potentially include locations in Aylesbury.”
In its budget papers, the county council forecasts an income of £375,000 this financial year from the ‘introduction of additional on-street pay and display machines in a number of locations across the county’.
The forecast for 2014/2015 is £784,000. This could then potentially rise to over £1 million by 2016/17.
