The congregation of Long Crendon Baptist Church have been singing the praises of their refurbished building after the first service at the new-look chapel.

Services have been held at a temporary location for the past nine months while work has taken place.

This has involved the back rooms of the church being remodelled and the chapel extensively refurbished, including a new balcony.

Rev Neil Turton lead an all-age service on the morning of January 26 to being the church’s new era.

Senior pastor Rev Jeff Steadman said: “Many people have given sacrificially of their time and money to make all this possible.

“We also appreciate that the construction work has meant some inconvenience along the High Street and we thank residents for their patience.”

The building will also have community uses.

The day centre will return twice a week and the spectrum art mornings and toybox for toddlers will be regular events.
