Buckinghamshire Community Foundation has contributed towards the cost of a lunch for senior citizens.

The charity presented a cheque for £2,250 to the Friday Senior Citizens Lunch Club in Quarrendon.

The cheque was presented by Dr Shanthy Edwards, a member of the grants committee last week.

The funds will go towards the cost of a freshly cooked two-course meal for senior citizens from Quarrendon.

The Bucks Community Foundation is a charity that awards funds to small groups, which may otherwise have been unable to access support and which are seeking to improve the quality of life in their areas.

Since January 2000, more than £4.8 million in grants have been awarded to over 1,600 local community groups and projects.
