Children’s centres, nurseries and groups for under-5s in Oxfordshire are being asked to host a ‘Giant Wiggle’ event on The Very Hungry Caterpillar Day.
The day, celebrated annually, marks the start of the 45th anniversary celebration of one of the UK’s most read children’s books.
The events will bring together under-5s to wiggle along in giant caterpillar conga lines, encourage them to help others and open up their imaginations through storytelling and creative activities.
The events are being promoted by charity Action for Children and The World of Eric Carle, who wrote the book.
Action for Children’s Ruth Sorby said: “What better way to celebrate the anniversary of Eric Carle’s beloved book than by getting kids active and having fun?”
Events will be held on March 20. For more information and to register for a fundraising pack to host a Giant Wiggle near you, visit www.actionforchildren.org.uk/giantwiggle or call 03001232112.
