A former John Colet schoolgirl who hits the gym every day has won her first ever bodybuilding competition.
Deborah Lane, 28, is an insurance manager in the real world - but every day she also hits the gym to sculpt the body beautiful.
And her 18-months of hard work with her personal trainer has paid off because Deborah took home first place in the bikini category of the Atlas Gym bodybuilding show in Milton Keynes.
She said: “I’ve always gone to the gym and done lots of fitness and exercise.
“But then I bumped into the man who is now my personal trainer, and he showed me different ways to work out and told me about bodybuilding. The gym I go to put on the show and it was amazing to win my category.”
And although she is dedicated to sculpting and maintaining her bikini body, Deborah has no desire to get as big as many other female body builders, or to compete in other heavier categories.
She said: “I don’t want to get too big, I will stick to the bikini category or perhaps the next stage which is body fitness.I just want to stay toned and have low body fat.I don’t really idolise Jodie Marsh, but there is a US woman called Jamie Easton who i really like, I followed her Live Fit plan for a while.
“There are lots of English girls who have done really well too.”
And following her success Deborah will travel to Bedford in eight weeks to take part in the qualifying competition for the British finals.
She said: “The local competition was nice because it was competitive but friendly, but this one really is the next level and I will have to work very hard over the next eight weeks to make it to the finals.”
Deborah currently has open Facebook and Twitter profiles where bodybuilding fans can track her progress as she gets into shape for the big competition.
