An arts group have fulfilled their motto of ‘exploring creativity and building confidence’ after a performance to coincide with National Shakespeare Week.
The Dove Creative Arts Group, who meet at the Quarrendon Community Centre, performed William Shakespeare’s play The Tempest in front of 70 friends and parents.
Shoshana Willetts, who set up the group in 2009 said: “The performance was a great success and a lot of parents said that they had never seen the children express themselves in the way they did.
“We had children from the age of five up to the age of 17, and it was brilliant to see how hard they worked in understanding Shakespeare and also how they improvised.
“They all chose their own costumes as an interpretation of their character, and after the success of this play we have now applied to perform Matilda as our next project.”
