A bumper fundraising haul has put big smiles on the faces of Thame Rotary Club members.
And following the success of the charity Thame Swimathon and Thame Art Show the group was able to donate £5,000 to a host of charities including locally based Sharing Life Trust, Thame Safari and Thame Players.
Jeanette Matelott Green, president of the club, said: “This year the Rotary Club of Thame concentrated on local Thame charities and thanks to the wonderful support we received we raised over £5,000.
“We presented cheques to four charities and also made donations to three young people from Thame who have raised money for local charities by their own efforts.”
And the charities were very grateful for the hard work that Rotarians had put in.
Gill Coleman, of the Thame and District Day Centre which benefitted from the cash, said: “The day centre is thankful to Thame Rotary for their continuing support.
“This donation will support funding for more social events for the people we care for.”
And Michelle Diffey, of Thame Safari added: “The donation received will make a big difference.”
Cheques were presented to the charities by Rotary stalwarts at a special event at the Spread Eagle in Thame , on Wednesday, June 18.
