We look at Aylesbury from the rooftops in 1950 where the names of watering holes such as The Cross Keys and the Coach & Horses are clearly shown looking in the direction of what is now Friars Square Shopping Centre. Behind the row of buildings sits Silver Street.

At the time of this picture the town could boast of having up to 90 pubs!
