Cargo is packing up and saying goodbye to Aylesbury
Aylesbury furniture store Cargo is shutting down in April after falling victim to high rental prices.
The shop in Aylesbury High Street is holding a 20% off closing down sale and will shut on April 28 after months of negotiations over rental costs with the private landlord failed to reach an agreeement.
Store manager Jeremy Redman-Cox said: “We got six months notice in November and four months of negotiations have not gone a favourable way. It wasn’t viable as a company to continue trading in Aylesbury.”
He added that his team of eight people would be offered jobs in Cargo stores in Thame and High Wycombe.
Other shops in Aylesbury to close in recent months include La Senza, Jessops, Peacocks and Comet.
