David Lidington MP is set to defect to UKIP over HS2 – or at least that is the claim of a prominent sign on the side of the Risborough Road.

Mr Lidington’s team dismissed the claims of the sign, which is thought to have been put up by a UKIP supporter and also displays the party’s Twitter account details.

The Westminster team also claimed that Mr Lidington would greet the sign with humour and would not be unduly worried about its content.

This week we revealed that UKIP is set to base its first ever nerve centre in Aylesbury’s Walton Street, right across the road from the Aylesbury MP’s constituency office.

UKIP parliamentary candidate Chris Adams bragged that Mr Lidington would be able to see his rivals from his window, and that the party was looking forward to taking his seat at the general election in 2015.
