The Duchess of Cambridge has given birth to a baby boy at 4.24pm at St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington today (Monday).

Prince William was present with his wife Kate throughout the birth and the newly born boy, who is yet to be named, is now third in line to the throne.

The news has been displayed on an ornate easel outside Buckingham Palace.

Babies born on the same day as the latest Royal will receive a special commemorative silver penny.
