LONG Crendon School has spent the past term interacting with some of the older members of the community.

As part of the programme, people from the village’s day centre came into class and spent time with the young pupils.

Madeline Poote, a teacher at the school, said: “It has been a good way of mixing the older with the younger.

“They have played games, done exercises and chatted about their own experiences at school.”

The sessions took place once a week throughout last term.

“It was a really nice set up for everybody. The day centre performs such an important service for the older members of the community.

“The day centre is always on the look out for volunteers to help run projects like this one,” said Madeline.

“They need people willing to be drivers to help with transport. Even if it’s just once a month.”
