LITTLE ones are being encouraged to explore their imagination through writing.

Judith Merry, 23, of Worminghall, is running a contest as part of her Thame-based campaign group, Team V.

Miss Merry’s latest aim is to inspire children, aged 7-11, through the power of stories.

“We aim to do this in various ways from running story circles, to creative writing workshops to encourage children to write their own stories,” said Judith.

Team V will also be running a judged story writing competition to highlight the creativity and imagination of children in the area.

Judith added: “Imagine you were a wizard for a day, using your magic wand and book of spells how would you make the world a more exciting place?

“Be imaginative, creative and adventurous, make the reader want to live in your world – the sky is the limit!”

Enter you short story, of 500 words maximum, to Judith.Merry@vinspired.com by deadline April 21.

Entrants are in with a chance of winning books signed by the famous children’s author backing the campaign, Michael Morpurgo – pictured left with Judith Merry.
