THAME Hockey Club has been given £2,000 to spend on kit and supplies.

Thame were given the money by Bicester-based company Payday UK.

Tim Trailor of the finance company said: “Here at PaydayUK.co.uk we’ve been aware that we’ve been a growing presence in the local community for more than seven years, so we really wanted to give something back and to engage with the community we all live and work in.

“Helping Thame Hockey Club seemed a really good way to do that and the great work they do, especially with their juniors section, was really inspiring to see, so I’m just pleased we were able to help out.”

The club was formed five years ago and has thrived in the intervening seasons. Adult training is on a Wednesday at Thame Leisure Centre. The junior section trains on Saturday morning.
