A student from Aylesbury is applying for what must rank as one of the best jobs in the world – flying around the globe testing out a new travel guide.
Former Grange pupil Conrad Gauthier, 19, needs your vote to earn him a place on the shortlist for Swiss International Airlines’s Swiss Explorer initiative.
The successful applicant will spend six months visiting trendy venues and experiencing cultural and gastronomic highlights.
They will test the travel tips on the new swiss.com website and add their own experiences to them. They will also blog, report, film, document and twitter from all four corners of the globe.
Conrad, who is currently studying air transport management at Loughborough University, has uploaded a video about himself to the Swiss Explorer website. The three candidates with most votes will go through to the interview stage.
On the video Conrad, of Wendover Road, says: “I come from an international family, always travelling in search of the next adventure and cultural experience.
“I love travel, especially with the tasting and cooking of different cuisines and the exploration of new cultures.
“I am also passionate about customer service when travelling and have been a tester at Heathrow’s Terminal 2 prior to its opening in June this year.
“This year I also took part in a charity challenge to travel as far away as possible and back in 56 hours. We managed to get to Zurich and back which was a fascinating experience as I learnt more about the airlines and the industry.”
“Once I have finished my studies I would love to train to be a pilot or follow a career in air transport management as this is where my passion lies.”
Voting closes on Sunday.
