THE British Red Cross is looking for new volunteers to aid its vital work helping people in crisis.
The organisation is perhaps best known for being part of a global voluntary network, responding to conflicts, natural disasters and individual emergencies all over the world.
However, the British Red Cross also enables vulnerable people in the UK and abroad to prepare for and withstand emergencies in their own communities.
When the crisis is over it helps them to recover and move on with their lives.
There are a huge number of voluntary roles available in the British Red Cross in Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire.
These include administrative support, first aid at events, fundraising and volunteering in its shops.
Volunteers are also needed for fire and emergency support providing help, advice and comfort in the aftermath of a crisis.
Another task undertaken by the British Red Cross is to provide short-term care in the home for those recovering from an accident or illness.
There really is something for everyone in the British Red Cross whatever your skills and previous experience, so if you would like to know more, contact call 01235 552691 or email email@example.com
More volunteering opportunities can be viewed in the Volunteer Point Directory available in Thame Citizens Advice Bureau, Thame Town Hall, Thame Barns Centre, Chinnor Village Centre, Chinnor Parish office and Long Crendon and Haddenham libraries.
