Cash-strapped students are getting a helping hand from the Friars Square shopping centre at a special lock-in event.

Stores including New Look, Burtons, Dorothy Perkins and Office will offer discounts of up to 40% at October 21 event.

Organisers Total Students, and bosses at the shopping centre, hope the event will help attract younger shoppers to come and spend their money in Aylesbury.

Anyone carrying a valied student ID can attend the lock-in from 6.30pm til 8.30pm.

Andy Margieson, centre manager, said: “We are delighted that so many retailers have backed our first-ever student event, it is part of our drive to encourage the younger generation to shop in Aylesbury.

“With Bucks Uni opening their new campus next year, we wanted to start showing students the great selection of brands we have on offer.”

Entertainment from
Total Students’ resident DJ will be provided on the night, as well as extra givaways, goody bags and exclusive discounts.
