A popular Haddenham cafe has reopened thanks to a group of volunteers.
Cafe Cibo has been closed since May 4 after owner Domenico Pisapia suffered a brain haemorrhage.
Mr Pisapia’s partner, Silvia Iskrvoa, has been at the 51-year-old’s side since then. Loyal villagers banded together to raise more than £4,000 to help the couple and reopened the cafe with the help of staff and volunteers on Wednesday.
Close friend Karen Lock said: “The whole thing is about just getting a bit of support for Silvia while she’s with him.
“For the community it’s brilliant. It’s always been a place to go and lots of people always went there. It’s good to just get it going again.”
Ms Iskrvoa said: “I just want to say a massive, massive thank you to everybody for their kindness and phenomenal support. We are so heartened by it all.”
Mr Pisapia is still seriously ill and making a slow recovery.
