More than 50 residents from Haddenham turned up at a workshop looking at how best to safeguard the village’s future.
The event saw parishioners help the Neighbourhood Plan team define a set of criteria by which the suitability of proposed housing developments in the town can be judged.
The workshop took place at the Community Infant School on Saturday.
The conclusions will be written up and used as a checklist to rate each potential development site and provide a basis upon which the parish council can respond to planning applications in the future.
Lots of ideas were generated at the meeting and these highlighted a strong desire to retain and enhance the village feel of Haddenham.
The neighbourhood plan team are in the final stages of writing the draft plan, based largely on data from the various public consultation events that have been conducted in recent months.
The team hopes to be able to present a near-final draft of the plan for further public consultation by the end of November.
