A glitzy charity ball in aid of a special care unit for sick newborn babies has raised more than £6,500 for its cause.
The Hollywood-themed ball at the Spread Eagle Hotel in Thame raised the much-needed funds for Support for the Sick Newborn and their Parents – based at John Radcliffe Hospital – and smashed last year’s total of £5,000.
Organiser Lara Collen, whose daughter Emily was cared for by SSNAP when she was born with a rare blood disorder six years ago, said: “We want to say a huge thank you to all who attended.
“£6,500 is an unbelievable amount of money to have raised in one evening, and it’s still growing.
“We’re so grateful for all the support we have received.”
Lara, of Estover Way, Chinnor, extended her thanks to Martyn Saulsbury of Solly’s Discos, My Sweet Art Creations for the popcorn favours, Richard and Jenny at the Spread Eagle Hotel and sponsors Silent View Windows, Tom Chamlet Builders, Honniball & Co and Lightfoots Solicitors.
Donations are still being accepted – call Lara on 07787823768 for more info.
