The Environment Agency issued a flood alert for the River Thame overnight on Thursday.

Following yet another heavy downpour, the river continues to rise slowly.

The Environment Agency announced on its website: “The river has already spilt out into the floodplain in the Thame Bridge area and may spill out in other locations throughout today (Friday).

“No property flooding is currently expected. The weather forecast is to expect further showers through today. There may be locally heavy rain overnight and into Saturday morning.”

The alert affects areas including Marsworth, Long Marston, Rowsham, Cuddington, Thame, Shabbington, Ickford, Waterperry, Wheatley, Drayton St Leonard and Overy, and also the Chalgrove Brook at Chalgrove and Stadhampton.
