Find out where and how you can recycle your waste

THAME residents can now easily find helpful advice on how to dispose of waste and recycling.

A new website was set up this week to allow people to select an unwanted item and discover various ways to avoid sending it to landfill sites.

The new service, which is a brainchild of the Oxfordshire Waste Partnership – a joint county and district project – is being dubbed a recycling A-Z.

Councillor Lorraine Lindsay-Gale, chairman of the partnership, said: “The public are always asking us how to get rid of particular items and we hope this new online A-Z will help answer those questions and highlight just how many things can be reused and recycled across the county.”

The new site advises people how to repair broken items and encourages users to donate things to charity rather then throwing them out.

It also encourages people to donate unwanted items to charity.
