A CHURCH in Chinnor is holding a Christmas festival featuring trees from around the world.

The event opened last week with a visit from Father Christmas and the Chinnor Silver Training Band and runs until Sunday. St Andrews’s Church has more than 20 real and artificial trees each decorated individually by different families and organisations to depict a different country of the world.

Admission is free although a short guide will be on sale for £1. The festival is suitable for all ages, young and old. It is open from 11am until 3pm on Saturday and 11am until 4pm on Sunday.

All proceeds go towards the maintenance of the historic church – specifically fundraising towards the refurbishment of the church servery and installation of a brand new disabled toilet.

The church is also hosting its traditional candle-lit Service of Nine Lessons and Carols on Sunday December 18 at 6.30pm.
