A band is releasing two new singles with help from a crowd sourcing campaign to fund the project.
Sinfiction is very popular on the local music scene and recently played at Haddenham Beer Festival.
Now, with help from their loyal following, the band members will launch their singles, Painted Memories and Ugly Baby, at The Harrow in Aylesbury on Saturday August 1.
Singer and electric guitar player David Thornton said: “We seem to have a good following and we want to say thank you to all the people that support us at live performances and with the funding for the singles. We are really gtrateful.”
The band used Kickstarter, a funding platform for creative projects, to raise the £7,000 needed to fund the recording of the singles. Most people donated small amounts, and were rewarded with various different rewards.
The band recorded the singles at a top quality studio in London with a professional producer.
They write all their own material, mainly indie rock.
David said: “Ugly Baby is about someone who is messing up their life a bit and wants more from life. Painted Memories is about looking back at the fun stuff you have done with mates and looking forward at the same time.”
The four members have been together for three years. Three of them work together at an IT company and the fourth, Danny Brook, is a longtime friend. They came up with the name Sinfiction after jotting down over 100 names and slowly crossing them all off.
Free CDs of the singles will be handed out at the launch night at The Harrow on August 1. Doors open 7.30pm, with Sinfiction taking the stage at 10pm. Thereafter the singles will be available to download from Spotify, iTunes and Google Play.
