Two firms want to grow their businesses by building new facilities in Thame - in a move which could create 70 new jobs.

Groves, one of Europe’s leading distributors of sewing accessories and needlecrafts, which is currently based in Long Crendon, wants to build a 100,000sqft warehouse at a brand new site at Cotmorewells Farm in Howland Road, Thame.

Print and production house The Windles Group also wants to build a 49,000sqft production facility at the site.

Planning applications have been submitted for the scheme, and a public exhibition of the plans will take place at Thame Town Hall today (Friday) til 6.30pm.

Managing director of The Windles Group Bruce Podmore, said: “The proposed development will enable us to stay in the local area, ensuring that employment opportunities are secured for local people.

“The purpose-built facility will also provide us with industry leading facilities to support future growth.”
