CHINNOR Rugby Club are celebrating the start of the World Cup with a weekend extravaganza and are inviting the whole town to come along and join in.
The Rugby World Cup kicked off in New Zealand on Friday and Saturday is the first full day of fixtures including England versus Argentina.
Because of the prestigious tournament, the Chinnor clubhouse will be open all day Saturday for anyone who wants to come down and watch any of the games.
There is also a junior and mini fun day for all youngsters up to the age of 17. Alex Bond, chairman of the mini section, said: “It is just a bit of fun. They are not trial sessions and will not consist of anything to serious. Just come down and have a go.”
The junior event will start around 11am and will continue until 2pm.
The day’s festivities will be rounded off with the chance to see some live rugby with three senior games on offer. The men’s Firsts, Seconds and Vets teams all playing league games at home in the afternoon.
