EastEnders scenes shot in Aylesbury showing the return of Ronnie Mitchell, played by Samantha Womack, will air on September 9.

The former model and her colleague Jessie Wallace, who plays Kat Moon, drew crowds of people wanting to get a glimpse of the celebrities and a sneak peak at the storyline as they filmed on Saturday.

Mrs Womack’s character has been away from the show for two years after serving time in prison for abducting Kat Moon’s baby son Tommy. Ronnie’s new storyline will see her facing those she has previously wronged.

The filming took place outside the town’s young offenders’ institute in Bierton Road.

Members of the production team contacted the prison a couple of weeks ago asking to film at the site.

Once a fee for using the location was agreed, the EastEnders crew were given permission to spend several hours filming.
