ALICE Couzens is facing the biggest challenge of her life as she prepares to conquer Mount Kilimanjaro.

She aims to climb the 19,000 foot mountain in August along with work colleague Lauren Murtagh and training is already underway to get the pair up to fitness.

Alice said: “The altitude is going to be the main problem because we can’t prepare for that at all but as long as we get physically fit we should be alright.”

The girls work at Box Technologies in Thame and are bidding to raise a combined total of £6,000 for charity.

Alice is aiming to raise £4,000 of that total for Help the Heroes, which has particular significance to her.

She said: “My boyfriend is in Afghanistan with the Royal Marines so it is close to my heart in that respect.”

Lauren meanwhile will be raising £2,000 for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
