Lock up your vans: Tool thieves on the hunt in Aylesbury

Thieves targeting commercial vans for tools are on the rise in Aylesbury.

Since the beginning of March there have been several thefts reported in Galsworthy Place, Cromwell Avenue, Savernake, Denby Walk, Whaddon Chase and Brimmers Way.

Tools stolen have included angle grinders, circular saws, drills, strimmers and hedge trimmers.

At one location suspicious people were sighted but this was not reported to police until several hours after they had left the area.

Police are asking for people to obtain a description of suspicious people, what vehicle they may be using and their registration number and to report any incidents when they happen.

The force has also asked for people to remove expensive tools and equipment from their vehicles when left unattended, especially overnight.

If you want advice and information on preventing vehicle crime you can visit www.thamesvalley.police.uk or call your local neighbourhood policing team via the 24 hour Police Enquiry Centre number 101.
