Court round-up: Drink driving RAF serviceman spared longer ban by magistrates

A serving officer at RAF Halton who has been spared a lengthy driving ban despite being three times over the limit is featured in this week’s round-up from the courts.

WARREN BOWEN, 31, of Recruit Training, RAF Halton. On August 15 on the A413 Wendover Road, Weston Turville, drove after consuming 147 milligrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood (legal limit is 50mgs). Pleaded guilty. Disqualified from driving for 12 months, fined £1,000, costs £85, victim surcharge £100. Magistrates ‘departed from sentencing guidelines as Bowen is a serving officer due to be deployed and will be subject to further punishment from the RAF. The fine has also been increased’.

ROBERT PAUL ROWE, 32, of Hereford Way, Aylesbury. 1) On July 26 in Buckingham assaulted a female. Pleaded not guilty, found guilty. 2) Same date/ location used threatening words/ behaviour towards a different female with intent to cause her to fear violence would be used against her. Pleaded guilty. 3) Same date/ location assaulted a male. Pleaded not guilty, found guilty. Awaiting sentence.

PAUL RICHARD BALLARD, 31, of Aston Close, Aylesbury. On February 23 in Buckingham assaulted a male. Pleaded not guilty, found guilty. Awaiting sentence.

GRZEGORZ MROZIK, 27, of Lansdowne Road, Aylesbury. On January 29 assaulted a female at the Peking Inn, Cambridge Place, Aylesbury. Pleaded not guilty, found guilty. Discharged conditionally, costs £400 compensation £50, victim surcharge £15.

RYAN DARIN BROOKS, 18, of Western Avenue, Buckingham. On June 24 in Buckingham had in his possession a quantity of cannabis, a class B drug, with intent to supply. Pleaded guilty. Awaiting sentence.

ANTONY STORM HORWOOD, 29, of Wycliffe End, Aylesbury. Between June 14 to June 21 stole a pedal cycle worth £350. Pleaded guilty. Fined £75, compensation £50, costs £85, victim surcharge £20.

MELISSA LEE LEWIS, 47, of Hartwell End, Aylesbury. On April 5 stole minced beef worth £7 from Co-op in Hannon Road, Aylesbury. Pleaded guilty. Fined £75, costs £85, victim surcharge £20.

SIOBHAN SWIFT, 21, of Hartwell End, Aylesbury. On April 5 used threatening words/ behaviour likely to cause alarm/ distress and the offence was racially aggravated. Pleaded guilty. Fined £110, costs £85, compensation £50, victim surcharge £20.

TERESA WELLBORNE, 46, of Morefields, Tring. On July 25 stole groceries worth £98 from Tesco in Aylesbury. Pleaded guilty. Fined £185, costs £85, victim surcharge £20.

DAVID JAMES COLLISON, 39, of Blackstock Close, Headington. 1) On June 8 in Cherwell Road, Aylesbury, assaulted a male. Pleaded guilty. 2) Same date/ location criminally damaged a front door letterbox. Pleaded guilty. Awaiting sentence.

BOYSIE BIDDLE , 28, of Paices Hill Travellers Site, Aldermaston. On September 26 drove a Toyota Landcrusier in New Road, Weston Turville after consuming 64 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath (legal limit is 35mgs). Pleaded guilty. Awaiting sentence.

SUSAN MAYHEW, 54, of Upper Icknield Way, Aston Clinton. On October 11 drove a KIA Picanto in Upper Icknield Way after consuming 71 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath (legal limit is 35mgs). Pleaded guilty. Disqualified from driving for 17 months, fined £275, costs £85, victim surcharge £27.

LEWIS CRAIG PAYNE, 24, of Florey Gardens, Aylesbury. On October 11 drove a Peugeot Partner van in Henry Road, Aylesbury, after consuming 70 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath (legal limit is 35mgs). Pleaded guilty. Disqualified from driving for 17 months, fined £700, costs £85, victim surcharge £70.
