Council recognises town’s big achievers

SOME of the town’s greatest achievers were recognised on Thursday at Thame Town Council’s Civic Awards.

The biggest prize went to Rosalie Gibson who was given the lifetime achievement award for her work in the community.

Her long list of involvements include being chairman of the Thame Conservation Area Committee, treasurer of Thame Historical Society, a member of the Women’s Institute and a trustee of the Thame Museum.

The Young Achievers award went to Cosette Jackson for her effort at Lord Williams’s School and the Oxford School of Gymnastics.

Jeremy Smith won the Service with a Smile award for how he greets customers at his Time Out coffee shop.

The Good Citizen award went to Denis Branch, who is a volunteer driver for the Thame Community Car while the Voluntary Organisation of the year award went to the Thame and District Round Table.
