Emergency council crews across Bucks are on standby as the country braces for a huge storm that is due to strike on Monday.

As well as four teams spread across the county, two gully emptying machines and a ‘Super Sucker’ drainage cleaning vehicle will be on hand to deal with the predicted heavy rain.

All incidents will be monitored by a central transport hub.

The council’s Sean Rooney said: “We obviously hope that our emergency response crews will not be needed and the predicted storms are not severe, but if they are required they will be on hand to tackle any issues caused by the storms, including flooding and fallen trees.”
