A PAIR of Thame pubs are attempting to break a world record for the number of cappuccinos made in an hour.
On Friday, sister pubs The Thatch and The James Figg are set to try and make 150 cups in support of Macmillan Cancer Support.
The current world record stands at 106 cups and to ensure everything is above board, the attempt will be independently witnessed and filmed, with the footage being sent to Guinness World Records afterwards.
Frazer Sutherland, owner of The Thatch, said: “The teams have had a few practice runs so are all fired up and ready to go, it’ll be interesting to see which pub makes it into the Guinness Book of World Records.”
The record attempt is being made between 11am and midday and the pubs will donate £3 for each cup.
Union Hand-Roasted Coffee has donated the coffee to be used. A spokesman said: “We are delighted to be supporting the pubs with this world record attempt generating much-needed funds for such a good cause.”
