St Mary’s Church’s free Christmas Day lunch has been boosted with the perfect present from the Vale of Aylesbury Housing Trust.

The trust donated £400 to the festive event which has now been running for over 20 years – with support from sponsorship and the dedicated wider community who volunteer to run the event in Aylesbury.

Fundraising for the lunch is continuing with a collaborative recipe book, ‘Just for you’, which consists of 50 delicious dishes sent in by the trust’s and St Mary’s staff.

The book is available from St Mary’s Church or the trust’s Fairfax House office, for £3.50 per copy.

Each book purchased covers the cost of Christmas lunch for one person.

Last year, St Mary’s provided a full Christmas lunch including crackers, party hats, turkey and all of the trimmings to more than 100 people across Aylesbury.

Kim Walter, who organises the lunch said: “I would like to thank the Vale of Aylesbury Housing Trust for their generous donation - without the financial backing of those who support the event, it simply wouldn’t be able to take place.

“Everyone and anyone is welcome to attend the Christmas lunch, which is completely free of charge”.
