A chef who has cooked for international music stars is hoping to fry up a breakfast treat for Aylesbury diners.
The Aylesbury Breakfast Club is the creation of Neil Holmes and offers a unique free delivery service.
All people wanting a Full English over the weekend need to do is call the club with their order and it will be freshly cooked and delivered to their door.
Mr Holmes, a 43-year-old father of two, has spent time touring with and cooking for the likes of Marilyn Manson, The xx and The Black Keys but decided to set up a new venture to get a break from the road.
He said: “There’s not an awful lot of choice for where people can eat breakfast in Aylesbury at the weekend.
“It is quite a unique idea and it has been going well so far.”
One concern might be the state a delivered breakfast would arrive in, but Mr Holmes says they have tried a number of ways of packaging and that all the customer feedback so far has been good.
The business had been operating from a ‘secret’ location since early July, but is now based in the Green Man in Market Square. Without the move Mr Holmes does not think it could have continued. They are now planning to serve breakfasts at the pub, in addition to deliveries, with the help of his daughter Charly.
Mr Holmes hopes the number of orders will swell over time, but says it is not all about making a fortune.
He said: “Last weekend we had about 25 orders. I would like to be doing 50 a weekend within a couple of months and I would like to think we could be doing 100 to 150 within a year. This is a personal mission to do something right and make it successful. It’s about quality and creating something that people will use on a regular basis because they know it’s good.”
