You know Christmas is lurking on the horizon when the charity card store comes to Thame.
Artist Wendy Townsend has once again provided the artwork for a number of scenes around Thame including the Spread Eagle Hotel, Town Hall and St Mary’s Church.
Proceeds from the sale of her cards will go to The League of Friends for Thame Hospital. Wendy is a volunteer at the hospital and also for the charity card shop.
We have a new guest charity this year, The British Red Cross, plus The Florence Nightingale Hospice and also a large number of national charities to choose from.
The shop is located inside Christchurch, Upper High Street, Thame and is open from 10am to 4pm each day except Sundays from November 15 to December 3.
On offer is also a selection of children’s stocking fillers, wrapping paper, gift tags, advent calendars and candles plus lots of other Christmas gift ideas for sale.
Cards for Good Causes pays the participating charities (or their trading subsidiaries) at least 75p in every pound from their card sales, less the VAT payable on the amount retained by CFGC. The retained amount covers CFGC’s costs of running the temporary charity Christmas card shops. In addition to these costs, the participants have to pay for the production and distribution of their cards.
