Charities set to benefit from more than £3,000 - promise

A range of charities will benefit from more than £3,000 raised at an auction of promises.

Around 40 businesses put up products for the auction, held at The Spread Eagle Hotel in Thame, which was organised by the Rotary

Club.

Items ranged from a week's stay in a traditional Brittany country house and a professional photo shoot to vouchers from restaurants, retailers and salons.

It raised more than 3,000 which will be shared between a number of chosen charities including the Thomley Activity Centre, Thame Pop-In at Christchurch, Thames Valley and Chiltern Air Ambulance Trust and International Rotary projects such as Rotary's 'End Polio Now'

campaign and the ShelterBox charity.

Peter Todd, the President of the Rotary Club of Thame, said: "I am extremely grateful to all those who offered lots for sale in our auction, and to all who attended and bid so generously.

"It was a fun-filled evening and we will now be able to make even more substantial donations to our chosen charities this year"
