One of the main junctions in and out of Thame was blocked on Tuesday after a car burst into flames, causing traffic chaos in the area.

No one was injured in the incident, which happened at the Aylesbury Road roundabout at about 8.20pm.

The black Peugeot 206 had to be abandoned in the road by its driver after catching fire and police and fire crews rushed to the scene.

Once the fire had been extinguished, emergency services were able to move the car to the side of the road by around 9pm.

The incident caused delays for motorists trying to get through the area while the road was blocked.
