Businesses across Thame are opening their doors to the community later this month.
An Open Doors business event takes place at Thame Town Hall on Saturday July 11 between 9am and 3pm.
Thirty businesses including CPM, Box Technologies, Unicarriers (Atlet), Kubota, DAF and Gregory will be showcasing their products and services in the Upper Chamber of the Town Hall and in the car park.
Representatives from the businesses will be available to talk to people about what they do and answer any questions visitors may have.
Roger Weaver from DAF said: “It was only when we had a group of students from Lord Williams’s School in for the day, we realised many local people have no idea what DAF produces, despite our prominent position on the bypass and our market leading position in the truck industry.’
Sally White, a director at SYLO Associates, a Thame based human resources consultancy firm said: “We hear from local students that they aren’t always aware of the businesses locally whilst local companies we work with are frequently saying how difficult it is to attract young and local people to apply for apprenticeships and jobs with them.
“Open Doors is the first event of its kind and will truly give local people the chance to find out more about some of the very interesting businesses just on their doorstep.”
The Open Doors business event is being supported by South Oxfordshire District Council, Thame Town Council and the Thame Business Forum.
