A broken wall has been repaired by two councillors using their own allowances.

Local UKIP leader Chris Adams and councillor Andy Huxley spent a combined £300 of their allowances to repair the eyesore near McDonalds on Bicester Road.

Mr Adams said the wall in Monmouth close was creating the wrong impression for Aylesbury and that he thought youths had been kicking it down.

Mr Huxley said: “It looks infinitely better. Nobody lay claim to it. The wall was getting dangerous because there was a lot of loose bits.”
