Bucks County Council’s cabinet member for transportation Janet Blake has been removed as part of the latest cabinet reshuffle.
Mrs Blake, who has come under fire for the state of Bucks’s roads and traffic congestion in Aylesbury, will be succeeded by Ruth Vigor-Hedderly, previously deputy cabinet member for transport.
Council leader Martin Tett has announced the changes to coincide with the new financial year.
Mr Tett has also decided that the planning and transportation portfolio is too big and complex a role for one cabinet member.
As a result, he has announced that he will be splitting planning from transportation and combining it with the environment portfolio under Lesley Clarke.
Bill Bendyshe-Brown has also been confirmed as the new deputy cabinet member for education, supporting Mike Appleyard.
Mr Tett said: “I would like to thank Janet Blake for her excellent contribution to planning and transportation over the past year.
“I warmly welcome Ruth Vigor-Hedderly and Bill Bendyshe-Brown to their cabinet roles and wish them the very best in their new, challenging jobs.”
