SPREAD Eagle duty manager Richard Patience put on a top hat and tail suit this week as he headed out to greet shoppers in Thame.
He wore the costume in a bid to promote the hotel’s new lunch menu and it seemed to go down well with the public.
General manager David Hodson said: “It went really well and we have had a few reservations off the back of it.
“He has been here for several years now and is really well known which helped it be so well received.”
It took some convincing to get Richard into the costume but it was all smiles and jokes in the end.
David said: “He was a bit nervous at first but within 20 minutes he was having a wonderful time.
“He is now getting friends call him about it and making jokes on his Facebook page.”
Richard was handing out brownies to those who passed by to highlight the menu, which includes scones, finger sandwiches and tea.
