Bizarre fashions at St Andrew’s carnival

THE latest fashions were put to one side recently as children in Chinnor displayed trends from the past six decades.

Rockabillies and punks rubbed shoulders with hippies and new romantics at St Andrew’s C of E Primary School annual street parade and carnival.

But peace and love triumphed as St. Andrew’s Key Stage 1 carried off the trophy for their enthusiastic portrayal of Flower Power.

More than 300 people took to the streets to support the school and over 700 joined in the afternoon of fun and games.

Headteacher Wendy Heritage said: “Once again, St Andrew’s School Association has worked tirelessly to put on this community event which brings together Chinnor’s schools and pre-schools.

“The funds raised today will make a huge difference to our pupils and teachers.”
