Saxophonist Ben Treacher will perform at the memorial hall which his grandfather Ron helped to build in 1975.

Ben, of Pitstone, will perform with his jazz quartet in the village hall on Saturday (tonight) from 8pm to help raise money for the venue.

Ben said: “This will be an exciting exhibition of some of the best up-

and coming jazz musicians from around the UK, playing the best of modern and traditional jazz with their own blend of folk and funk-inspired original compositions.”

All of the quartet’s members are studying for a degree in music at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff.

Meanwhile Ben has secured a place at the Utrecht Conservatoire in Holland for the autumn term, where he will study under top saxophone teachers before returning to the UK in January to finish his degree.

Tickets for this weekend’s show are available from Ivinghoe Post Office and Masons Stores in Pitstone
