Songs from Mary Poppins, My Fair Lady and Oliver! will be performed in concert by a 24-piece band.
Thame Concert Band is playing London-themed crowd-pleasers for its latest performance this weekend, with town mayor Peter Lambert expected to attend.
French horn player Jane Akazi, 37, who has been playing the instrument since she was nine said: “Everyone is very excited.
“Especially with the mayor going to be there. That’s a real honour and it’s great for all our family and friends.
“We like to play stuff that people recognise and we rehearse at the same place as the concert so it’s our home territory.”
The band is performing at Christchurch in Upper High Street between 2.30pm-4.30pm.
But the group, made up of guitarists, brass, and woodwind instruments players , is looking for more percussionists and a drummer.
Jane said: “It would be great if there was a drummer sitting in their living room and thinking could I be in a band?
“It’s all very relaxed, there would be no official audition and we’re very sociable too.”
The band of mixed ages, originally founded 25 years ago, is conducted by Roger Hewitt.
Tickets for Sunday’s concert can be bought on the door at £8 for adults and £6 concessions.
