New road markings and repainted lines on Walton Street gyratory will be carried out in August.

Conservative district councillor Mark Winn said the faded road markings were causing a number of difficulties for drivers.

He said: “The road markings are almost nonexistent.

“I’m sure it must be leading to accidents or near accidents on the road.”

Mr Winn said the time delays between traffic lights around the gyratory were also inconsistent.

He added: “If somebody jumps the lights I’m sure there’s a chance of a major accident.”

The county council said it will paint directional markings on the gyratory which label Aylesbury Town Centre, Wendover and Stoke Mandeville.

A council spokesman said: “Work to refresh the road markings on the Walton Street gyratory is scheduled to take place in August, during the school holidays, to help keep disruption to traffic to a minimum.”
